Kids Muay Thai runs on Monday and Wednesday at 5:00 PM and Saturday at noon, for ages four to twelve. It is often the class children take to most readily, as pad work provides immediate feedback and a clear sense of progress.

Underneath that, the program develops co-ordination, balance and timing: how to hold a stance, move efficiently, and generate movement through the whole body rather than the arms alone. These attributes transfer readily to other sports.

Contact is controlled and age-appropriate throughout. Classes are built around pad work, footwork drills and partner exercises rather than children striking one another, and hard sparring forms no part of the kids program.

Ivan Primorac leads the kids Muay Thai classes, bringing over twenty years of experience and an international competition background. The practical benefit is that fundamentals are taught correctly from the outset rather than corrected later.

Questions parents ask

Will my child be hit?

Not in the sense parents usually mean. Classes are built on pad work and partner drills, contact is controlled and age-appropriate, and hard sparring is not part of the kids program. Children are paired by size and supervised throughout.

What does my child need to bring?

For a first class, a t-shirt and shorts, bare feet and a water bottle. Gloves and shin guards can be purchased once your child decides to continue; we stock children's sizes and can fit them properly.

Can my child train both Muay Thai and Jiu-Jitsu?

Yes, and many do. The two run on separate days, Jiu-Jitsu on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and Muay Thai on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday, so children can attend either or both.

What age can my child start?

From four years old. Our youngest students work primarily on co-ordination, listening and movement through structured games, with technical content introduced as they develop.
